Broadcom BCM92045NMD Bluetooth 2.0 Module
The Broadcom BCM92045NMD (FCC ID QDS-BRCM1018) is an internal Bluetooth 2.0 wireless module that connects to the host system via the internal USB bus — it is not an RS-232 or serial device despite its placement in the serial-cables taxonomy. Operating in the 2402–2480 MHz range, it was designed for integration into laptops from HP/Compaq, Samsung, and Acer and is compatible with Windows XP and Windows 2000. The module exposes an 8-pin proprietary connector whose pins are lettered A–H rather than numbered.

Notes
The pin labelling runs A–H from right to left as viewed from the connector face. The module is identified by Windows as USB\VID_03F0&PID_171D, branded as “HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless Technology”. Broadcom has not published a public specification for this proprietary 8-pin internal connector; the CH_DATA and CH_CLK signal assignments reflect the pin labels visible in the FCC filing. Regulatory compliance: FCC Part 15 Class B, RSS 210 (Canada), and R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC (EU) including EN 300 328 and EN 301 489-17.
