ECU - Electronic Control Unit Connector.
The Eagle Talon 2nd generation (1995–1998) is built on the Diamond-Star Motors D31A/D32A/D33A platform, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Motors and Chrysler Corporation. It shares its chassis, engine, and engine control unit hardware directly with the Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G (1995–1999), making the ECU connector pinout identical between the two vehicles. Engines used include the 420A 2.0 L DOHC non-turbo, the 4G63 2.0 L DOHC turbocharged unit (TSi AWD), and the 4G64 2.4 L SOHC. The ECU manages multiport fuel injection (MFI), ignition timing, idle speed, and sensor inputs through a multi-pin connector detailed below.

Notes
- The Eagle Talon 2G ECU connector and pinout are identical to those of the Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G; service manual terminal check procedures for the Eclipse 2G apply directly.
- The 4G63 turbocharged variants (TSi AWD, TSi FWD) and the non-turbo variants use different ECU calibrations; confirm the engine code before using terminal voltage reference values.
- Power grounds (pins 13 and 91) must have low resistance to chassis ground for reliable ECU operation.
Signals
- Ignition Control Module — speed/timing signal output from the ECU to the ignition control module; used to control spark advance.
- Power Ground — ECU chassis ground reference; two ground pins (13 and 91) are present to reduce ground impedance.
- Tachometer Output — RPM signal derived from the ECU and sent to the instrument cluster tachometer.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input proportional to intake air temperature; used to correct fuel and ignition calculations.
- Primary O2 Sensor — analogue voltage input from the upstream (pre-catalyst) oxygen sensor; primary feedback for closed-loop fuelling.
- Secondary O2 Sensor — analogue voltage input from the downstream (post-catalyst) oxygen sensor; used for catalyst efficiency monitoring.
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input proportional to coolant temperature; influences fuel enrichment, idle speed, and ignition timing.
- Throttle Position Sensor — analogue voltage input indicating throttle plate angle; used for load calculation and acceleration enrichment.
- Vehicle Speed Sensor — frequency/pulse signal input indicating road speed; used for idle control and speed-density calculations.
- Throttle Position Switch — analogue/switched input indicating idle or wide-open throttle positions; supplements the throttle position sensor.
