The Eagle Talon first generation (1990–1994) shares its platform, engine management hardware, and ECU connector pinout with the Mitsubishi Eclipse 1G and Plymouth Laser, all produced by Diamond-Star Motors — the joint venture between Mitsubishi Motors and Chrysler. The engine control unit manages multi-point injection (MPI), ignition timing, idle control, and emissions functions for the 4G63 2.0 L DOHC turbo (AWD models) and related non-turbo four-cylinder variants. On turbo-equipped Talons, the ECU uses a single large 76-pin connector; the 4G63T ECU controls boost via the wastegate solenoid in addition to standard fuel and ignition functions.

Notes

The Eagle Talon 1G ECU connector is physically and electrically identical to that of the Mitsubishi Eclipse 1G and Plymouth Laser — all three vehicles share the Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) architecture and wiring harness. The turbo AWD variant uses the 4G63T engine; the non-turbo FWD variant uses the 4G15 or 4G37 depending on trim year. Connector orientation and harness routing follow the Mitsubishi FSM for the 1G DSM platform (1989–1994 production run).
