The Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo is a badge-engineered version of the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, sharing the Z16A platform and the 6G72 3.0 litre DOHC twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The Engine Control Unit uses a three-piece connector assembly (sections A, B, and C) and manages multi-point injection, ignition timing, boost control, and sensor inputs. Because the Stealth and 3000GT VR4 are mechanically identical, the ECU hardware and connector pinout are the same across both nameplates. This table represents a partial listing of the most commonly referenced terminals for the 1991–1993 model years.

Notes

The ECU connector is a three-section unit; connector section labels (A, B, C) correspond to the groupings used in the Mitsubishi service manual terminal charts. The twin-turbo variant carries additional terminals for boost-related solenoids and EGR control that are not present on naturally aspirated 3000GT variants. All injector signals are grounded by the ECU (low-side switching). Sensor ground (pin 72) is electrically separate from power ground (pins 26 and 71) and must not be joined in the harness.

Signals

  • Injector 1–6 — low-side PWM output to each fuel injector in the 6G72 V6; pins 1, 2, 3 drive injectors 1, 3, 5 and pins 14, 15, 16 drive injectors 2, 4, 6
  • Power Ground — chassis/power return for ECU and actuator circuits (pins 26 and 71)
  • Air Intake Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input from the IAT sensor in the air cleaner assembly; used for fuel and ignition correction
  • O2 Sensor #1 (Right Bank) — analogue narrow-band oxygen sensor signal from the right-side exhaust bank; used for closed-loop fuelling
  • O2 Sensor #2 (Left Bank) — analogue narrow-band oxygen sensor signal from the left-side exhaust bank
  • Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input from the ECT sensor; used for warm-up enrichment and fan control
  • Throttle Position Sensor — analogue voltage input (0–5 V) indicating throttle plate angle; used for load calculation and acceleration enrichment
  • Atmospheric Pressure Sensor — analogue input from the barometric pressure sensor; used to compensate fuelling at altitude
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor — pulse signal from the transmission speed sensor; used for idle control and diagnostic functions
  • Volume Air Flow Sensor — analogue voltage input from the Karman-vortex VAF sensor; primary load signal for the MPI system
  • Sensor Ground — dedicated low-noise return for all analogue sensor inputs (pin 72); kept separate from power ground
