2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan ECU

ECM harness connector pin assignments for the early-build 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan (5AT, VQ35DE, VIN serials 000001–329287).

The 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan is built on Nissan’s V35 platform and is powered by the VQ35DE 3.5L V6 engine managed by an OBD-II compliant ECM (Engine Control Module) using Nissan’s CONSULT-II diagnostic interface. This page covers only the early-build 2003 Sedan variant — vehicles with VIN serial numbers 000001 to 329287 (excluding serials 327918, 327920, 327976, 327978, 328979, 329004, 329025, 329078) fitted with the five-speed automatic transmission (5AT). These early-build units carry different ECM terminal assignments from both the later-build 2003 Sedan and the 2003 G35 Coupe. The ECM is located behind the passenger-side instrument lower panel; the negative battery terminal must be disconnected before unplugging the ECM connector.

Signals

  • RPM Signal (pin 5, Yellow/Red) — Ignition coil cylinder #1 tachometer signal; not a direct analogue voltage channel.
  • Injector Duty Cycle (pin 1, Red/Black) — Dwell signal for injector #1; not a direct analogue voltage channel.
  • IAT (pin 66, Yellow/Green) — Intake air temperature sensor; 0–4.8 V analogue output (234 °F/112 °C = 0 V; −3 °F/−19 °C = 5 V). Wire colour differs from the later-build Sedan.
  • TP (pin 83, White) — Throttle position sensor; 0.36–4.75 V analogue output. Wire colour is White on early-build units; Green on later-build units.
  • ECT (pin 93, Yellow/Black) — Engine coolant temperature sensor; 0–4.8 V analogue output (238 °F/114 °C = 0 V; −5 °F/−21 °C = 5 V).
  • MAF (pin 62, Light Green) — Mass air flow sensor; 1.1–5 V analogue output.
  • APP (pin 73, Brown) — Accelerator pedal position sensor; approximately 0.41–3.2 V analogue output.

Notes

  • * Not applicable. A built-in LMA-3 sensor used.
  • ** TP and APP sensor values are approximate. Verify the raw voltage with the pedal depressed and released on your own car and use those voltage values for 100% and 0% TP/APP, respectively. Not needed. Voltage itself monitored for tuning purposes.
  • The ECM connector uses a lever-release locking mechanism. After unplugging the connector, remove the black locking lever by snapping it out of its anchors in the middle of the connector, then remove the outer harness collar that retains the wire bundle. Terminal inspection requires a break-out box special service tool (SST) with a Y-cable adapter; probing connector terminals directly risks damage. The G35 communicates over CAN bus linking the ECM, TCM, BCM, combination meter, steering angle sensor, and VDC/TCS unit.
