ECU - Electronic Control Unit Connector.
The 1996–2002 Dodge Viper SR-II generation uses a JTEC (Jeep/Truck Engine Controller) Powertrain Control Module to manage the 8.0 L V10 Sequential Fuel Injection engine; the 1996 model year switched from the earlier SBEC unit in order to meet OBD-II requirements. The PCM uses a Motorola 68HC16 main processor paired with a 68HC11KA04 co-processor that holds the VIN-linked EEPROM, and 256 kB of flash memory. Two serial bus protocols are supported: CCD (Chrysler Collision Detection, 7812.5 baud differential twisted-pair) for inter-module communication, and SCI (Serial Communication Interface, 7812.5 baud UART) for scan-tool access and flash reprogramming. The module is mounted under the bonnet near the air cleaner and carries three sealed 32-way connectors (C1/C2/C3, also labelled A/B/C), colour-coded black, white, and grey.

Notes
The PCM connectors are designated C1 (black housing, sensor inputs and ignition coil drivers), C2 (white housing, fuel injector drivers and generator field), and C3 (grey housing, control outputs and serial bus lines) in the OEM wiring documentation; on this page they appear as A, B, and C respectively. Each connector is a sealed 32-cavity unit; not all cavities are populated. During SCI flash reprogramming, pin 6 of the C3/C connector is elevated to approximately 20 VDC to enable access to flash memory. The CCD bus wiring uses a twisted pair (one twist per 44.45 mm) with 120 Ω termination between the Bus+ and Bus− lines and 13 kΩ bias resistors to 5 V and ground.
Signals
- Crank Position Sensor Signal — variable-reluctance frequency signal from the crankshaft position sensor; used for engine speed and ignition timing reference.
- Intake Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor; used to correct fuel and ignition calculations for air density.
- Camshaft Position Sensor Signal — frequency signal used for cylinder identification and sequential injection phasing.
- Throttle Position Sensor — analogue voltage (0–5 V) indicating throttle plate angle; used for load calculation and acceleration enrichment.
- Left Upstream O2 Sensor Signal — heated oxygen sensor voltage from the left bank, upstream of the catalyst; used for closed-loop fuel trim.
- Left Downstream O2 Sensor Signal — heated oxygen sensor voltage from the left bank, downstream of the catalyst; used for catalyst efficiency monitoring.
- Right Upstream O2 Sensor Signal — heated oxygen sensor voltage from the right bank, upstream of the catalyst.
- Right Downstream O2 Sensor Signal — heated oxygen sensor voltage from the right bank, downstream of the catalyst.
- MAP Sensor Signal — analogue voltage from the manifold absolute pressure sensor; primary load input for the speed-density fuelling strategy.
- Power Ground — chassis/power ground returns for the PCM (two pins, 31A and 32A).
- Injector #1, #3, #5, #6, #7, #9 — low-side sequential fuel injector drivers for the V10 engine (ten total across connectors B/C2; only a subset are shown in this table).
- Atmospheric Temperature Sensor — analogue input from the ambient air temperature sensor.
- Tachometer Signal — digital output to the instrument cluster tachometer; driven by the PCM from crankshaft position data.
