The 1994–1997 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo is a badge-engineered variant of the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, built on the shared Z16A platform with a 6G72 3.0 L DOHC twin-turbo V6 engine. The multi-point injection (MPI) engine control unit uses a four-block connector (terminals 1–26, 31–46, 51–62, 71–92), whose terminal layout and signal assignments are identical between the Stealth Twin Turbo and the 3000GT VR4. The ECU governs fuel injection across all six cylinders, ignition timing, idle speed, oxygen sensor feedback, and numerous sensor inputs; the terminal numbers below follow the factory ECM terminal-voltage check chart.

Notes

The table lists the documented terminals from the factory ECM terminal-voltage check chart. The four-block ECU connector (terminals 1–26, 31–46, 51–62, 71–92) is proprietary to the Z16A chassis and is not interchangeable with the earlier 1991–93 variants. The two dedicated ECU power grounds are pins 13 and 26.

Terminals that changed for 1996+ (turbo): Engine ignition signal 58 → 51; Electric-load switch 24 → 58; Fuel-pressure solenoid 7 → 40; Turbo meter 41 → 39; Muffler-mode changeover switch 34 → 61; Heated oxygen sensor (rear) 60 → 73 and 79. A/T-only lines: “reduce-torque” request 46 and 43 (→ 60 for 1996+), execution 7.

Signals

  • Injector 1–6 — individual fuel injector drive outputs for each cylinder of the 6G72 DOHC V6; pins 1, 2, 3 (cylinders 1, 3, 5) and pins 14, 15, 16 (cylinders 2, 4, 6)
  • Power Ground — chassis/power ground reference for ECU output drivers (pins 13 and 26)
  • Air Intake Temperature Sensor — analogue input from the intake air temperature thermistor in the volume air flow sensor housing
  • O2 Sensor #1 (Right Bank) — analogue voltage input from the front (right) oxygen sensor for closed-loop fuel trim
  • O2 Sensor #2 (Left Bank) — analogue voltage input from the front (left) oxygen sensor; the twin-turbo uses one sensor per bank
  • Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor — analogue input from the ECT thermistor; used for fuel enrichment, fan control, and warm-up strategy
  • Throttle Position Sensor — analogue voltage proportional to throttle plate angle; used for load calculation and acceleration enrichment
  • Atmospheric Pressure Sensor — analogue input from the barometric pressure sensor used for altitude compensation of fuel delivery
  • Vehicle Speed Sensor — pulse signal from the transmission-mounted VSS; used for idle control and speed-dependent strategies
  • Volume Air Flow Sensor — analogue signal from the karman vortex or hot-wire mass air flow sensor measuring inducted air volume
