The 1994–1997 Mitsubishi 3000GT (Z16A chassis) uses a multi-piece ECU connector as part of its Multi-Point Injection (MPI) engine management system. The base and SL models are fitted with the 6G72 3.0 L V6 SOHC non-turbo engine driving the front wheels, while the VR4 variant uses the twin-turbocharged DOHC version of the same engine with all-wheel drive. The ECU connector is a four-block housing, each block carrying dedicated signal, power, and ground pins. The terminal numbering below is that of the later (1994-on) four-block connector; 1994–95 non-turbo Federal cars retained the earlier 1991–93 connector numbering (see the 1991–1993 3000GT page).

Notes
The 1994-on ECU connector is a four-block housing (terminals 1–26, 31–46, 51–62, 71–92); the numbers above are the factory terminal numbers from the ECM terminal-voltage check chart. The two dedicated ECU power grounds are pins 13 and 26. The non-turbo ECU omits the turbo-only terminals (wastegate solenoid 32, fuel-pump relay 2 31, turbo meter, ABS signal 44); DOHC non-turbo cars add variable-induction control-valve terminals. Some terminals differ between the up-to-1995 and 1996-on calibrations (e.g. engine-ignition signal 58 → 51, electric-load switch 24 → 58). The Dodge Stealth R/T is a platform-identical rebadge of the 3000GT on the same Z16A chassis and shares the same ECU connector assignment.
Signals
- Ignition Control Module — speed/timing signal output from the ECU to the ignition control module; used for spark advance control.
- Power Ground (pins 13, 26) — dedicated chassis ground references for ECU power circuits; both ground pins must have solid continuity to chassis earth.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input proportional to intake air temperature; used by the ECU to correct fuelling for air density.
- Secondary O2 Sensor — analogue input from the downstream (post-catalyst) oxygen sensor; used for catalyst efficiency monitoring.
- Primary O2 Sensor — analogue input from the upstream (pre-catalyst) oxygen sensor; primary feedback signal for closed-loop fuelling.
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor — analogue voltage input from the coolant temperature thermistor; governs warm-up enrichment and fan control.
- Throttle Position Sensor — analogue voltage input indicating throttle plate angle; used for load calculation and acceleration enrichment.
- Vehicle Speed Sensor — pulsed speed signal input from the transmission; used for idle control and speed-dependent functions.
- Mass Air Flow — analogue voltage input from the hot-wire MAF sensor; primary load input for fuel injection calculation.
