4 pin 3.5mm (2.5mm) plug connector at the computer´s cable.
The Sony VAIO PCG-K13 and PCG-K14 notebook computers feature a proprietary A/V OUT jack that combines composite video and stereo audio in a single 4-pin miniature connector. The output is driven by the ATI RADEON GPU (RADEON 9200 64 MB or RADEON IGP 345M) via a dedicated TV signal path shown in the service manual block diagram. Connection to a television requires the optional audio-video AV cable sold separately; the Fn+F7 key combination switches display output between the internal LCD and the TV.
| Pin | Description | Impedance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Left Line Audio output | 10 KOhm |
| 2 | Right Line Audio output | 10 KOhm |
| 3 | TV OUT (composite Video) | 75 Ohm |
| 4 | Ground |
Notes
- The VAIO will NOT output video until it sees a 75 Ohm load; without the load, no signal is output at all.
- The connector does not disable the VAIO’s built-in speakers.
Signals
- Left Line Audio output — stereo audio left channel output at line level; 10 KOhm impedance.
- Right Line Audio output — stereo audio right channel output at line level; 10 KOhm impedance.
- TV OUT (composite Video) — composite video signal for television display; 75 Ohm impedance; driven by ATI RADEON GPU TV output.
- Ground — common ground return for audio and video signals.
