The ASUS AV/S connector is a proprietary 6-1 pin internal motherboard header (designated U46) found on ASUS nForce2-based boards such as the A7N8X-VM/400. It connects to an optional add-in bracket module — the ASUS AV/S card — which provides rear-slot S-Video and composite video output ports. The header is driven by the integrated GeForce4 MX GPU’s TV encoder via the nForce2 Southbridge, and supports NTSC and PAL TV-out modes. Pin 3 is a mechanical key (absent pin) that polarises the mating connector; the remaining five pins carry the video signals and ground returns.
