The Invertomatic-Victron (IMV) intelligent serial cable, part number VIC-23/2, connects GE/IMV/Victron UPS units — including the Match 500, 700, 1000, 1500, 2200, 3000, and NetPro series — to a PC serial port for bidirectional monitoring. The UPS side presents a 9-pin D-SUB male connector; the PC side a 9-pin D-SUB female. The interface operates at 1200 bps and is supported by the NUT victronups driver as well as the proprietary PowerFLAG software. General Electric acquired IMV (Victron) on 31 July 2001, and the product line continued under the GE brand.

Notes
The cable is a crossover: UPS RxD (pin 1) connects to PC TxD (pin 3) and UPS TxD (pin 2) connects to PC RxD (pin 2). UPS pin 5 provides signal ground to PC pin 5. UPS pin 4 connects to PC RTS (pin 7); this connection supplies a voltage rail via the PC’s RTS line to power the UPS optocoupler interface. PC DTR (pin 4) and DCD (pin 1) are also driven by the PC. This wiring corresponds to Data Cable 1 in the NUT project’s ge-imv-victron.txt reference, covering the Match and NetPro series. A separate wiring variant (Data Cable 2) applies to the Match Lite series, where the UPS pin assignments differ. The Victron serial protocol is not officially published by the manufacturer.
