RCA connector
The Sony DCR-PC110E MiniDV camcorder (introduced in 1998) uses a 4-pole TRRS 3.5 mm socket labelled AV OUT to carry composite video and stereo audio on a single connector. The supplied A/V connecting cable breaks this out to three colour-coded RCA plugs: yellow for composite video, white for audio-L, and red for audio-R. Video output is 1 Vp-p into 75 Ω (unbalanced, sync negative); audio output is 327 mV at a load impedance of 47 kΩ or greater, with an output impedance below 2.2 kΩ. The TRRS pole-to-signal assignment follows a Sony-proprietary convention; no IEC or EIA standard governs 3.5 mm composite AV pole order.

Signals
- Audio Left — analogue audio left channel; white RCA plug at the TV/VCR end.
- AVideo Out — composite video (CVBS), 1 Vp-p / 75 Ω, unbalanced, sync negative; yellow RCA plug.
- Shield ground — common ground shared by all three RCA signal returns (white, yellow, and red cables).
- Audio Right — analogue audio right channel; red RCA plug at the TV/VCR end.
Notes
The DCR-PC110E also carries a separate 4-pin Mini-DIN S-Video socket (luma 1 Vp-p/75 Ω; chroma 0.286 Vp-p/75 Ω) and a 4-pin IEEE-1394 (i.LINK/DV) digital interface; these are distinct from the AV MINI JACK described here. When the optional S-Video cable is used instead of the supplied A/V cable, the yellow composite video plug is not required, but the white and red audio RCA plugs must still be connected separately — S-Video carries no audio. The TRRS plug is 3.5 mm (ø 3.5 mm); do not confuse it with a standard stereo (TRS) headphone jack.
