6 PIN DIN MALE at the Monitor
This cable connects the Commodore 128 or C64C’s 8-pin DIN (270°) video output port to the CBM 1902A colour monitor’s 6-pin DIN separated Y/C (LCA) input. The C128’s video port carries separated luminance and chroma signals generated by the 8564 (NTSC) or 8566 (PAL) VIC chip at 1 Vp-p into 75 Ω, which feed directly into the 1902A’s S-Video-compatible LCA socket. The 1902A, a Philips/NAP-manufactured monitor, cannot use its composite and LCA inputs simultaneously.

Signals
- LUM — Luminance/Sync output from C128 8-pin DIN pin 1; 1 Vp-p, 75 Ω, 0.5 V DC offset; connects to 1902A 6-pin DIN pin 6 (Luminance)
- CHROMA — Chroma output from C128 8-pin DIN pin 6; 1 Vp-p, 75 Ω, 0.5 V DC offset; connects to 1902A 6-pin DIN pin 4 (Chroma)
- GND — Signal ground from C128 8-pin DIN pin 2; connects to 1902A 6-pin DIN pin 3 (Ground)
- AOUT — Audio output from C128 8-pin DIN pin 3; 1 Vp-p, 1 kΩ; connects to 1902A audio input (maximum 150 mV input level)
Notes
The C128 8-pin DIN uses a 270° alignment (DIN45326). The 1902A’s 6-pin DIN LCA socket accepts separated Y/C; its composite and LCA inputs cannot be used simultaneously. The C128 audio output level (1 Vp-p, 1 kΩ) may exceed the 1902A’s 150 mV audio input rating — an attenuating resistor on the audio line is advisable.
