ATX and BTX power connector on the motherboard consists of two rows of 12 pins. This connector from the ATX/BTX power supply can only be fitted in one way.

This ATX ver. 2.x standard supports 75 watt PCI Express requirements. Some motherboards allow to use an old ATX Motherboard Power - 20 Pin (ver. 1.x) with 20 pin connector that fits into 24 pin female connector. If you have an ATX power supply with a 24 pin main cable, it’s okay to plug it into a motherboard with a 20 pin connector.

  • 18 AWG is recommended for all wires except pin 11, which should be 22 AWG.
  • For 300W configurations 16 AWG is recommended.
