The Chatterbox mono headset uses a 6-pin mini-DIN male connector — the same physical shell as a PS/2 keyboard or mouse plug — at the helmet-side cable end. It is a proprietary interface developed by Chatterbox USA (Maxon America Inc.) for use with the FRS X2 (14-channel, 462.550–462.725 MHz) and GMRS X1 motorcycle intercom radios. No public standard governs the pin assignments; the pinout was received directly from Chatterbox USA. The connector carries a single speaker pair and a mono microphone, using only four of the six available pins.

Notes
The 6-pin mini-DIN plug is physically identical to a standard PS/2 connector and is mechanically interchangeable with PS/2 sockets, but the pin assignments are entirely proprietary to Chatterbox and must not be confused with PS/2 keyboard or mouse wiring. Replacement plugs sourced from electronics suppliers (e.g. Digi-Key) can be used when re-cabling a headset. Pins 1 and 2 are unused in the mono variant; the noise-reducing stereo headset variant occupies those pins for separate left and right speaker signals. The pinout was received from Chatterbox USA and no independently published manufacturer schematic is known to exist.
